This is a print of my original watercolor piece entitled, Rebekah at the Well.

I came up with the idea for this piece when I was caring for a family member who was in the hospital. I had been sharing the story of Rebekah with my children the week before, talking about how she embodied the characteristics of charity, service, and kindness. It struck me that she must have been in constant contact with her Heavenly Father, ready to recieve his promptings. Meditating on this Old Testament story, along with a lot of prayer, helped me to feel calm in one of the scariest times of my life. Following this biblical woman's example of humble service rendered gladly helped me to stay more patient and kind. I cannot explain exactly how this terrifying time of great trial turned into one of the most beautiful memories I have, but I know it must have something to do with trying to serve as Rebekah did, humbly, whole-heartedly, and without hesitation.
